Dr. Chris Wright Receives Outstanding Citizen Award - 2006 Dr. Chris Wright , Superintendent of the Hazelwood School District, North County resident and community leader has been selected to receive the annual Outstanding Citizen Award of the Old Jamestown Association. The award is made each year to a citizen who has contributed to the quality of life in North St. Louis County. Dr. Wright came to the Hazelwood School district as superintendent in 2002, after having served in that capacity at the Riverview Garden School District for seven years. Since her arrival at Hazelwood, she has led the successful Hazelwood First effort, encouraging community engagement with parental, staff, district patrons, and business owners as active leaders for the whole district. This effort resulted in the passage of a $70 million Bond Issue and the current construction of four new middle schools.She currently serves as the President of the Missouri Association of School Administrators, and is past-Chairman of the Board of Directors for Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis. She is active in the community by currently serving on the Board of North County Inc., the Board of Directors for the Florissant Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Community Advisory Board of DePaul Hospital. Dr. Wright and her husband, Charles Nicastro, live in the Old Jamestown community. |
